Flood Support

 

Three floods in two years would take a toll on any community, and the communities of Wisemans Ferry, Sackville North and Lower Portland are no different. My thoughts are with those who have again been affected by the floods.

Please be aware that if you – or someone you know – have been impacted by recent flooding, you may qualify for financial assistance.

The Disaster Relief Grant is available to those eligible individuals or families whose homes or essential household contents were damaged or destroyed by a natural disaster. These grants assist with the cost of replacing essential household items or contribute to crucial structural repairs to homes. The Disaster Recovery Grant is available for small businesses or not-for-profit organisations that have been directly impacted by floods. Grants are available for eligible entities of up to $50,000 to help pay for the costs of clean-up and reinstatement of a business or organisation’s operations. The Special Disaster Grant is available for eligible primary producers that have been directly impacted by the floods.
