Berowra residents will have access to a new Community Centre with a re-elected Morrison Government committing $150,000 to complete the upgrade of the San Giorgio community centre in Kenthurst.

Federal Liberal Member for Berowra, Julian Leeser, said he was proud to be working with the San Giorgio Association to fight for the completion of the community centre which will provide a place for the community to gather.

“The upgrade will include a function room and kitchen that will be used for community events,” Mr Leeser said.

“The last few years have been very hard for many in our community and the competition of these upgrades, means that the community will have access to another place where they can hold events and get together.”

Associazione San Giorgio Martire di Sydney is a not-for-profit organisation established in 1977 by a dedicated group of Italian migrants who sought to maintain and foster their religious and cultural traditions.

Over the years, the Association has hosted numerous functions and events, including a very successful annual festival of San Giorgio, for the benefit of the local and wider community. The festival aims to promote the maintenance of Italian traditions, cultural and religious activities amongst people of Italian heritage and the wider community.

Mr Leeser said the San Giorgio community facilities are used by a wide variety of community organisations including the local Rural Fire Service brigades.

“The upgrades to the community centre will enhance community amenity for the residents of Kenthurst and surrounds.”

If re-elected the Morrison Government will deliver this project in partnership with Associazione San Giorgio Martire di Sydney.

Only the Morrison Government will continue to deliver a better future for Berowra as part of our plan to build a strong economy and a stronger future.
