Lifeline Shop in Asquith is set to receive a facelift thanks to receiving $15,000 from the Morrison Government.
Many of us have a local op shop around the corner but there is something particularly special about Lifeline Asquith. Their Manager, Breyana Howes, has been passionate about the store ever since her grandmother spent 20 years volunteering there, when Bre was a little girl.
Bre has been Manager of the store for a couple of years now and is committed to making the shop a space where customers want to come and shop, ensuring only the top quality goods make it to the shelves.
“It was amazing seeing Bre’s passion for the shop and the work she and the volunteers put in to making the shop a great place to be,” said Julian Leeser MP.
“I was delighted to give Lifeline this money to do some much needed renovations to the flooring and paint around the shop to ensure it continues to be a great place for customers and volunteers.”
Renovations will include updating and modernising the staff amenities, renewing the flooring and re-painting the store to make it more inviting for people shopping at Lifeline.
Breyana says that the grant will make a huge difference to the store, “Lifeline volunteers and staff alike are very grateful for the generous grant from Julian Leeser MP, and to Lifeline Harbour to Hawkesbury for matching this figure.
“The funding will enable some long overdue, much needed repairs to the volunteer staff area and shop floor, including improving the changing rooms, entrance hall, wall paint and flooring.
“This grant will enable my long serving volunteers to enjoy better working conditions throughout the whole shop.
The shop has been operating for over 20 years in Asquith and has become a key part of the community.
“I am excited for a renewed atmosphere for our shoppers and volunteers and we are looking forward to welcoming customers in the future to check out the new renovations,” said Breyana, Lifeline Asquith Shop Manager.
