Federal Member for Berowra Julian Leeser MP has presented Arcadia Public School Parents and Citizens Association with a $3,000 Stronger Communities grant for renovations.

Arcadia Public School is planning on using the money to:

  • Install a retractable fly screen on the canteen for safer food preparation
  • Install roller blinds and wooden canopies on classrooms to reduce use of air-conditioning

“Arcadia Public School is an integral part of the local community spirit – I’m so pleased to be able to strengthen the school,” Mr Leeser said.

Principal Sharon O’Brien thanked Mr Leeser for his contribution and for the work of the P&C in applying for the federal funding.

“Arcadia Public School is an incredible place to learn. Our students benefit in so many ways from the thriving partnership between the school, parents and the wider community,” Principal O’Brien said.

“Our P&C President, Peter Jones and Secretary, Simon Hamilton-James. are two of our dads whose efforts contribute to the great opportunities every student enjoys.”

The $3,000 grant was provided by Mr Leeser as part of the Federal Government’s Stronger Communities Program, which allocates $150,000 to each electorate for projects that create vibrant and viable communities.
