Federal Member for Berowra, Julian Leeser MP has presented Warrah Society Disability Services with a $19,000 federal grant to upgrade their internet infrastructure.

Mr Leeser said improving the internet will help better connect Warrah Society participants and staff with the broader community.

“Warrah Society Disability Services provides vital services to support children and adults with special needs. I am proud to help provide essential infrastructure so Warrah Society can build relationships between participants, families, staff and the local community as well as improve the functioning of the business. I am delighted to provide $19,000 in federal funding to improve the quality of the internet service,” Mr Leeser said.

Warrah Society CEO, Georgina Michaelis, thanked Mr Leeser for the $19,000 contribution, explaining how the updated internet will improve the experience of both the participants and staff.

“This grant will help us connect with each other as well as the broader community. We are a community based organisation and how we connect with each other is at the heart of what we do. Upgrading the internet is a very important piece of work for our organisation and the people we support. We are very appreciative of the federal contribution towards this project,” Ms Michaelis said.

The $19,000 grant was provided by Mr Leeser as part of the Federal Government’s Stronger Communities Program, which allocates $150,000 to each electorate for projects that create vibrant and viable communities.
