Member for Berowra Julian Leeser remotely opened the Birrung Centre at Mount St Benedict College, a new support centre for students with diverse needs, that was funded by the Coalition Government.

Mr Leeser said students would benefit from the new Birrung Centre that would provide more space to support students with diverse needs, and allow students to enhance their learning potential.

The Coalition Government provided $164,400 for the project through the Capital Grants Program, which provides funding for non-government schools to improve capital infrastructure.

“It was great to remote into the opening at Mount St Benedict College to see the new facilities and hear about the positive impact it will have on students,” Mr Leeser said.

“Mount St Benedict College in Pennant Hills has a wonderful school community, and this new Birrung Centre will further enhance the learning environment.

Principal Michael Hanratty said the new support centre would help many students across the school.

“Around 15% of Mount St Benedicts College have diverse needs and the extension and refurbishment of the support centre will enable students to have greater access to the support they need.”
