The final designs for Greenway Park clubhouse, the future social hub of Cherrybrook, have been revealed. With the contracts signed, the construction of Greenway Park Clubhouse has also begun, with the clubhouse to be completed in 2020.
“Greenway Park clubhouse is a really significant project for the Cherrybrook community, as the clubhouse will be the home to eight sports clubs from the local area,” said Julian Leeser MP.
“It will also provide a fantastic new venue and give to clubs a revenue stream in the future.”
In 2018, Julian Leeser announced the Federal government would be fully funding the upgrade of Greenway Park with $2.7 million. The funds would also enable a new clubhouse to be built.
“It’s really exciting to have the designs revealed and the construction underway.”
Phil Hare, the Chair of the Greenway Park Clubhouse Committee said, “This is an incredible initiative that gives us a home and a social space for the clubs outside of playing sport.”
“We love the physical benefits of playing sport but the social benefits of parents, families, children socialising together before and after games, is something that all of our clubs miss. This gives us a home, it gives us an environment and we think it is going to be the new social hub of the Hornsby region in the Cherrybrook area.”
Parkwood Modular Buildings is constructing the modules for the clubhouse offsite whilst Steve Taylor from Total Constructions is the engineer and project manager on the project.
John McDougall from Parkwood Modular Buildings revealed more about the construction process and the timelines for the delivery of the clubhouse, “We’re building the modules up in Gosford, they are built completely under cover.”
“They’ll be delivered over one or two days when they are complete and installed at Greenway Park.”
The clubhouse will be completed this year and will provide a home for the eight sports clubs and many teams who call Greenway Park home.
