Federal government funding fills the gap to make Pennant Hills Park Clubhouse a reality

Julian Leeser MP has announced $500,000 of Federal Government funding to make a new multi-sport clubhouse at Pennant Hills Park a reality.

With funding now secured, a new clubhouse will be built at Ern Holmes Oval at Pennant Hills, which will significantly improve facilities for players and spectators.

Julian Leeser said the Pennant Hills Park clubhouse was a key priority for the Liberal and Nationals because of the significant benefits for the Pennant Hills community.

“This is a significant federal government investment in the Pennant Hills sporting community. The upgrade will benefit AFL, Cricket, Rugby, Football and Athletics teams,” Julian Leeser MP said.

“The community has been calling for the upgrade for some time. Last month almost 200 people signed the petition for the upgrade. Currently there are no proper facilities for female athletes and the existing clubhouse just isn’t fit for purpose.”

State Government funding has been committed towards the clubhouse, but with a $500,000 shortfall, the project could not proceed. The Federal funding will close that gap.

Mr Leeser said the funding for the Pennant Hills Park clubhouse upgrade was only possible because of the Morrison Government’s plan for a stronger economy.

“Only the Liberals and Nationals have a proven track record when it comes to managing the Budget,” Julian Leeser MP said.

“By paying down debt and growing the economy, we can afford to deliver funding for priorities in local communities such the Pennant Hills Park clubhouse upgrade.

“This is all at risk under Labor and Bill Shorten who pose the greatest risk to Australia’s economy in a generation with plans for $387 billion in new taxes on small and family businesses, retirees, housing, income, investments, electricity and cars.

“Labor would put at risk Australia’s 27 years of consecutive economic growth.”

Julian Leeser MP said this year’s Federal Budget delivered Australia’s first surplus in more than a decade.

“The surplus guarantees funding for the essential services that you and your family need and rely on,” Julian Leeser MP said.

“This includes record funding for schools, hospitals, medicines and roads.”
