Julian Leeser MP, Federal Member for Berowra, accepted a dare to be dunked, from the Beecroft Primary School Fair, on the weekend.

The Fair raises funds to improve facilities and run programs such as the ‘Tell them from Me’ anti bullying program and the Multilit reading program.

Mr Leeser was thrilled to accept the challenge and be dunked for a good cause.

“It is not every day that I am invited to an event where the entertainment drawcard is me being dunked. When Parents and Citizens President, Melissa White, dared me to participate in Dunk a Dude – I knew I couldn’t back down.”

“Getting dunked was a lot of fun. I was in good company, with Mr Guy Fletcher from class 5G, Mrs Jo Justic from class 3J, Mr Daniel Lee RFF teacher, Mrs Fiona Johnston of 5J OC class and Ms Linda Corrigan of Class 4C all stepping up with me.”

“Congratulations to the Beecroft Primary Parents and Citizens Association for hosting a wonderful Fair and I look forward to be dunked again in two years,” Mr Leeser said.

Beecroft Primary School has been holding a biannual Multicultural Fair since the mid 1980s. The Fair focuses on food stalls from around the world, and particularly cuisines of the cultures that are represented by the students of the school. This year, there were Chinese, Korean, American, Turkish, Pakistan, Indian, Italian and Australian food stalls.

The Fair also included rides, a cake stall, coffee van, second hand book stall, face painting and many more attractions. The funds raised previously have gone towards school equipment such as Walkie talkies, an interactive whiteboard, and iPads and laptops for access to Naplan online.
