Federal Member for Berowra Julian Leeser MP and Regional Development Minister John McVeigh have presented Asquith Boys High School with a $6,000 grant for the installation of a new multipurpose sporting facility.

Mr Leeser’s $6,000 contribution will allow Asquith Boys High School to replace concrete and asphalt basketball courts, which haven’t been used for close to a decade due to safety concerns.

“Asquith Boys High School is a fantastic school, and they’re deserving of fantastic facilities,” Mr Leeser said.

“I was proud to bring Regional Development Minister John McVeigh to Asquith to present this grant and introduce him to the excellent staff and students.”

Asquith Boys High Principal Bryce Grant thanked Mr Leeser for his contribution, explaining how the much needed money will help them transform their sporting facilities.

“This money will go a long way towards installing a multipurpose facility for volleyball, soccer and basketball on a synthetic grass surface,” Mr Grant said.

“This grant is a great result for the school,”

The $6,000 grant was provided by Mr Leeser as part of the Federal Government’s Stronger Communities Program, which allocates $150,000 to each electorate for projects that create vibrant and viable communities.
